Thankful Hearts

It's funny how November is suddenly the time when everyone becomes thankful. I've been pretty absent from the blogging world due to being completely overwhelmed with school, research, work, babysitting and having a "social" life. Today I realized there are only 70 days left until I will be taking off in the biggest adventure of my life and I can't help but stop and reflect on these last few months. They have been full of struggles and stress. I have been going nonstop with hardly anytime to myself. And yet that makes me realize how fortunate I have been. I am fortunate to go to a Christian university where I am getting a great education. I have been blessed with a research opportunity to study Autism in mice (which I am doing as I currently type). I have also been blessed by having a job that I love and the chance to spend time with the most precious children ever. My social life has suffered due to all of this but I love coming home every night to my guy. Spending the last hours before I sleep just being with him and unwinding has been the biggest blessing. These moments make me realize how much I will truly miss while I am in Rome for 3 months. But I cannot help but be humbled and blessed by everything I have been given in this life.

Cheers to it being fall! My favorite time of the year.
