Field Trips: Roman Forum

On this field trip we headed to the Roman Forum. It was incredible to be walking among so many ruins and buildings that were so important to the function of the empire. To be able to walk through buildings built by Julius Caesar was definitely a highlight.

Field Trips: Ostia Antica

On this field trip we visited Ostia Antica which is an old Italian port city about 30 mins from Rome. It is a city of abandoned ruins which you are able to walk through. It's cool being able to see what a normal ancient Italian city looked like. There is so much of the city that is left to be uncovered with excavations.

Field Trips: Santa Costanza

This field trip included a visit to the church of Santa Costanza. This church is where Constantine's daughter was buried and happens to be right around the corner from our convent. The beautiful mosaics were made with stone.

Field Trips: Pantheon

This day was spent at the Pantheon and getting pizza from a hidden but great pizzeria. The day was gorgeous which showed off this structure even more brilliantly. The Pantheon is the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome and still stands after 2,000 years. Talk about brilliant architecture!
